On Sunday morning May 5th shortly after 8am the East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to 138 West Lancaster Ave in Downingtown for the reported apartment fire. Initial reports were of dark smoke coming from the windows of an occupied apartment.

Battalion 45 arrived first and reported smoke showing and confirmed he had a working fire in one of the apartments.

Engines 49-5 and 49-2 along with Ladder 49 made the response from East Brandywine. Upon arrival of EBFC the crews split up and assisted units already on location with opening up the apartments, throwing ladders and several other tasks.

The fire was quickly placed under control and once cleaned up the crews were able to clear the scene.

EBFC responded with a total of 24 members.
