On Saturday August 3rd just after 2:30pm East Brandywine volunteers were dispatched to Route 82 and Cedar Knoll Rd for an accident with injuries. Initial reports were of two vehicles involved with at least one injury.

Chief 49, Deputy 49, Assistant 49, Engine 49-1, QRS 49 and Utility 49 all made the response. Deputy 49 and Chief 49 arrived first and reported two vehicles partially blocking the roadway. Deputy 49 began to access the injured parties along with members from Ambulance 144. It was determined a second BLS (basic life support) ambulance would be needed and was requested by Chief 49.

Upon the arrival of Engine 49-1 the crew secured both vehicles and began to clean up the roadway. Crews from QRS 49, Utility 49 and both Chief and Assistant 49 provided traffic control around the incident.

Flings towing was on scene and removed both vehicles from the scene. Both parties involved were transported to local hospital and we send our thoughts and prayers out to them and hope they recover quickly.

This intersection is one of the busiest ones we have in our local for accidents. Recently we have responded numerous times for accidents. Please use caution when going through this intersection and watch your speed if you are on 82 going in either direction.
