On Monday September 9th just before 8am Downingtown Fire Department along with several other area departments were dispatched to the unit block of Downing Circle in East Caln Township for a reported house fire. Initial reports were of smoke from the roof area and rear of the house.

Police arrived a short time later and confirmed the house was filled with smoke. Battalion 45 arrived and reported heavy smoke showing and asked for the working fire dispatch as well as the 2nd alarm.

The 2nd alarm alerted the East Brandywine Volunteers who responded quickly thereafter in Ladder 49, Engine 49-5, Utility 49 and QRS 49 with a total of 13 members.

Upon arrival of the EBFC crews members began throwing ground ladders and also sent several members inside to help opening up to help remove some of the residual smoke left on the second floor. Members stood by on scene for approx 1 hour before being released.

Thank you to Honey Brook Fire Company who stood by at our station with Engine 33-5 while we were on scene at this fire.
