On Tuesday September 10th just after 1am East Whiteland Fire Company along with numerous other companies were dispatched to the 100blk of Planebrook Rd for a building fire. Initial reports were of smoke and fire visible from the Baird & Rudolph Tire Company.

Police arrived first and reported heavy fire showing from the rear of the building. As units began to arrive on scene they set up for aerial operations with the ladder pipes to knock down the fire.

Due to so many companies being committed to the scene it is customary that other companies get dispatched to cover them while they operate at the fire. Around 2:00am East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched for an Engine to cover Station 47 (Lionville). As members arrived at the station and began their response to Lionville, Chief 5 asked for 3 additional Engines to the scene of the fire. This added Engine 49-5 who responded immediately with a crew of 6 and Assistant 49 also made the response.

Upon arrival of Engine 49-5 they were advised to stage their apparatus on Planebrook and bring their manpower to the front of the building. Crews assisted with overhaul of the building and stood by on scene for approx. 2 hours.
