| On Saturday, the crews from East Brandywine Fire Company and Glen Moore Fire Company attended the Twin Valley Fire Department (St. 69) Parade and Housing Ceremony. Every unit attended with the exception of Rescue 48, Tanker 49 and Ladder 49, which stayed behind to cover the territory.
It was great weather for the event and we were proud to represent the department with 10 pieces and nearly 30 people attending between the two companies. The parade was judged by Tri State Judges association which grades equipment based on the most Functional and Equipped. At the end of the parade, TVFD had an excellent BBQ meal available to all of the Fire Company members attending and rolled out the red carpet to all of those in attendance!
At the Awards Ceremony, we were able to bring home three First Place trophies! Those included Most Function Pumper-Tanker (Engine 48-5), Most Function TAC or Mini-Pumper (TAC 48), and Most Functional Special Service Unit (Containment 48).
Special thanks should be given to Lt. Rich Savastana, FF Adam Saylor, FF Mark Edwards, FF Mike Mcgann, FF Steve D'Ginto, Engineer Corey Mortzfeid, and FF/EMT Colin Miller for getting the apparatus prepared for the parade.
We would also like to thank Chief Seese and Deputy Chief Hannum and our brothers from Glen Moore for joining us in our first parade participating together as a Department.
We would lastly like to Thank Chief Keith Romig and the Membership of Twin Valley Fire Department for your hospitality and wish you Best of Luck in your new station! |
