The 2014 Ebola epidemic is the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa. Two imported cases, including one death, and two locally acquired cases in healthcare workers have been reported in the United States.

CDC and partners are taking precautions to prevent the further spread of Ebola within the United States. To that end on Saturday October 25th, East Brandywine Fire Company's EMS Division conducted an Ebola Training / Update.

EMS Captain Collin Miller provided a comprehensive review of all of the information known to date regarding the virus. Our goal today according to EMS Captain Miller "was to educate our team of providers in order to keep them safe". Miller also added "I think all prehospital providers are a little frustrated the official pre-hospital guidelines have not been released to date".
