East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers received a very special surprise visit Thursday evening May 11th.

Thomas and Denise Kefford dropped by in order to say “thank-you” to our team.

On April 17th around 7pm Tom unexpectedly experienced a sudden cardiac arrest. Tom’s family immediately started CPR, and upon arrival of Police and First Responders he was shocked 3 times with an AED. Tom’s heart rhythm was restored on-scene and he was transported to a local hospital for further care.

According to Denise, her husband has been restored to health with no neurological deficit! Denise also added “I could not get over the number of caring volunteers who responded so quickly to help us”.

Our team could not be happier for Tom, Denise and their kids! It is remarkable to think that in some small way our work will help this family continue to live on and create memories!

Thank-you Tom and Denise your visit made our night!
