On Tuesday evening East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to an auto-accident on Route 82 in West Brandywine Township.

Once en-route Units were informed that the caller reported one vehicle struck a tree. Upon arrival personnel found a pick-up truck exited the roadway and came to rest in a heavily infested area of bamboo. Crews actually had to cut the bamboo in order to gain entry to the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle had fled the scene and could not be located after searching the area.

Personnel remained on-scene to provide lighting and traffic control while the vehicle was removed for towing.
