On Wednesday evening August 23rd East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers trained on roof operations.

The evening started with an overview of various types of roofs provided by Assistant Chief Vince D'Amico. Additionally Assistant Chief D'Amico went on to cover strategy, equipment needs, safety, and lessons learned over time.

Volunteers spent nearly two hours working on cutting techniques while a fire burned beneath them.

According to Chief John Edwards "our training complex continues to pay dividends for us, it is invaluable resource that gets used almost weekly to help us develop our skills".

If you are unfamiliar with our training complex it consist of a 40'x40' concrete pad, shipping containers and multiple props. It's development really was a grass roots initiative by our volunteers and spearheaded by Training Officer Chris Keen and Assistant Chief Vince D'Amico.

Over the course of the next few weeks check back to see the improvements we will be making to the training complex.
