Resident Offers a Special "Thank-you"

On Saturday August 19th following a vehicle rescue demonstration, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers received a special "thank-you" from a resident who was in the crowd.

Mr. Dan Synder thanked our team and indicated that in 2013 he had been involved in severe auto-accident and needed to be extricated from the vehicle. Mr. Synder said "you guys are the best, I am alive today as a result of your work".

On May 28th, 2013 the car Mr. Synder was driving was rear ended by a tractor trailer and forced under another truck at Route 82 and Route 322. Mr. Synder was heavily entrapped and had life threatening injuries however was able to extricated in 44 minutes with the assistance of our mutual aide partners.

Mr. Synder said that since the accident he had since retired from his job and has focused on taking life one day at a time and living it to the fullest.

Our team would also like to acknowledge the Honey Brook Fire Company, Glen Moore Fire Company, Medic 93, and Ambulance 144 who assisted on Mr. Synder's accident.
