Fire Prevention Week officially kicks off October 8th - 14th with the theme "Every Second Counts Plan 2 Ways Out".

Over the course of the next couple of weeks East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers will share important life safety messages with over 2,500 kids throughout our area. Deputy Chief Joe Edwards who oversees the fire prevention program said "our goal is not only educate the kids about having multiple escape routes planned but also educate them on a variety of topics that could save their lives".

Deputy Chief Edwards said "we are fortunate we have a robust program that has been recognized within the School Districts as one of the most innovative in the State". Edwards added "the success of our program is really dependent on the collaboration and relationships we have developed with Teachers and School District leadership".

East Brandywine Fire Company currently protects four Elementary Schools in our first due coverage area. Two in the Coatesville Area School District, one in the Downingtown Area School District, and on which is part of the Catholic School System.

Our volunteers have already conducted multiple fire prevention assemblies at Reeceville Elementary School and Friendship Elementary School which proved incredibly successful!

East Brandywine Fire Company Officers and Members would like to thank Principals Brad Bentman and Stephanie Sturdivant as well as the Teachers and Teachers Assistants at both Reeceville and Friendshiip Elementary Schools for their continued commitment to life safety.
