On Wednesday evening January 17th, the East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers held their annual Line Officer Installation and Company Recognition Ceremony.

The evening was a huge success with nearly 150 people in attendance, including many county and township representatives, including Chester County Commissioner Terence Farrell, as well as numerous business and community leaders and supporters. Additionally Chief Edwards acknowledged all of the families who were in attendance, for without their support, we would not be able to continually provide our services to the community. The night continued with the highlighting most of the accomplishments the Company experienced in 2017.

We had two speakers following the overview, Chester County Director of Emergency Services Robert “Bobby” Kagel and Harrisburg Bureau of Fire, Chief Brian Enterline addressed the audience. Director Kagel again praised the Organization for their work in the area of retention and recruitment and municipal government relations.
Chief Enterline's speech provided the attendees with additional insights into the fire service and discussed how the local fire company impacts the community of citizens in which it serves.

The audience then had the opportunity to view the 2017-year in review video. This years video was again produced by FF/EMT Nick Proko and Assistant Chief Engineer John Needles.

Additional presentations were made to the 2017 officers by PA State Representative, Becky Corbin and two families who had house fires over the past year, both who shared the impact EBFC had on their lives before, during and after their incidents.

We then took some time to thank and well wish our outgoing Fire Chief, John Edwards. John has served East Brandywine Fire Company as Fire Chief for the past 5 years, and we were able to recognize him through another video as well as a lineup of our members who individually thanked him for what he had selflessly given of himself to them and the fire company. Additional speakers West Brandywine Supervisor Joe Morris, East Brandywine Police Sergeant Jeff Yankanich, and Chester County Deputy Director for Fire Services George "Beau" Crowding all remarked about the impact that Chief Edwards had on themselves, the community and the fire company.

We also recognized the many years of service that our Safety Officer, Bruce Anderson had provided to East Brandywine.

The night concluded as newly elected Fire Chief Vince D'Amico took office and introduced the 2018 Fire Officers and Operation Officers.
