Company Renews Professional Certification

The volunteers of East Brandywine Fire Company are committed to training and providing high quality emergency services. To that end we are proud to announce that once again we have successfully renewed our Professional Certification as a Company through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

What does this mean? This means the currently over 75% of our volunteers hold their National Pro-Board Fire Fighter 1 certification. The purpose of this certification program is to identify and recognize emergency service personnel whose accomplishments in training and education meets or exceeds nationally recognized standards.

Currently the Office of the State Fire Commissioner Statistics show that only 312 Fire Companies in Pennsylvania are participating in the voluntary program. The breakdown is as follows:

100% Level - 40 Companies
75% Level - 67 Companies
50% Level - 101 Companies
10% Level - 104 Companies

Additionally according to the Office of the State Fire Commissioner of the 312 Fire Companies participating , 6 are located in Chester County. Fire Chief Vince D'Amico said "we are proud to participate in this program because we believe it highlights our commitment to training.
