This past weekend 11 members of the East Brandywine Fire Company traveled to Elysburg to assist Station 170 with manning their Haunted House.
Elysburg's Haunted House serves as the premier fund raiser for the fire company. According to Ed Payeskie the event organizer nearly 3,000 to 4,000 people will go thru the house over the course of the weekend. The company hopes to raise over $50,000 to assist with bills.
The Haunted House is an unbelievable value, admission is only eight dollars. According to Payeskie even though several thousand dollars of animatronics was added this year the goal was to keep the admission cost down.
If you are interested you still have one weekend left to tour the house. The Haunted House will be open this Friday October 30th and Saturday October 31st.
While in Elysburg the members stayed at the Knoebels Grove Campground. During their stay they experienced torrential rains. As a result of the rain Knoebels Amusement Park experienced flooding. Station 49 members jumped into action cleaning drains to make sure the Amusement Park could hold their Hallo – Fun Fest.
Station 49 members would like to extend their appreciation to Ed Payeskie, Station 170, and the Knoebels Campground staff for their hospitality.
