On Monday November 16th, 2009 the East Brandywine Fire Company hosted a group of seniors from Freedom Village for an Open House.
The event was part of an on-going partnership with Freedom Village to help foster a better understanding of the role each of the organizations within the community.
The visit started a tour of the station and an overview of the apparatus provided by Captain Joe Edwards. Many of the Freedom Village residents asked thought provoking questions.
Following the tour Lt. Marc Crusemire gave a brief presentation regarding the company's fire prevention program and community involvement.
After the Lieutenants talk the group enjoyed lunch.
The day wrapped up with a few rounds of Bingo with the winners receiving gift cards to Wawa and Victory Brewing Company.
The officers and members of the East Brandywine Fire Company look forward to making this Open House an annual event.
Special thanks goes out to Barb Edwards and Cindy Yearsley for preparing the meal. Additionally Chief Conlin, Assistant Chief Witmer, Battalion Chief Zynn, Tom Edwards and Dane Edwards should be recognized for their participation in the program.
