On Tuesday September 16th at 16:25hrs Engine 49-5 was dispatched to assist Lionville Fire Company on a large haybale fire on Milford Rd in Upper Uwchlan. Lionville Engine 47-5, Tower 47, Tanker 73 and 48-5 were already on the call and had approx. 60 bales of hay on fire in a field.

Due to the size of the pile crews requested a front end loader/backhoe to help pull the pile apart so that crews could properly wet down all of the hay to make sure it was extinguished fully.

While crews were flowing water from Engine 47-5 the tanker trucks would send their water to 47-5 and once empty went to the fill site on Highview Dr to get more water.

Engine 49-5 and the crew of 5 firefighters was on scene for approx 3 hours before being released from the scene.
