On Friday afternoon February 1st the East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers responded to Honey Brook Township to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company on a house fire.

While responding units were advised that the resident was thawing frozen pipes and the insulation caught fire.

Deputy 49 (Edwards) was first on location and assumed command. Upon investigation he reported light smoke showing from the residence and requested Engine 33-1 to stretch an 1 3/4 attack line. Interior crews reported fire in the walls and up into the attic. Engine 49-5 arrived and set up a supply line to feed Engine 33-1 with water if needed.

Thankfully the fire was held to the area of origin thanks to the quick actions of the resident and firefighters.

Crews from 49-5 and 49-2 remained on scene to assist with cleanup and then returned.
