On Monday night July 8th just before 7:30pm the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched to a residence on Gloucester Dr in East Brandywine for an electrical odor inside a residence. Initial reports from the caller stated they had electrical shorts in the house with the lights going on and off and an odor of something burning.

Chief, Assistant and Battalion 49 all responded shortly after dispatch with Battalion 49 arriving first and reporting nothing showing from the exterior. Engines 49-2 and 49-5 along with Ladder 49 responded a short time later. Chief 49 arrived and assumed command of the incident.

Upon arrival of Engine 49-2 the crew stretched an 1 3/4 handline to the front door as a precaution. When 49-5 arrived they stretched a 5 inch supply line to 49-2 and hooked into them to prepare to supply them with water if needed.

Crews investigated for several minutes and determined the cause to be an issue with the fuse box. PECO was notified and crews began to clean up and cleared from the scene.

EBFC responded with a total of 20 personnel.
