On Saturday October 20th just before 10:45pm the Company was dispatched along with numerous other local departments for the reported outbuilding fire in the area of North Brandywine Middle School. Immediately after dispatch Deputy 49 who was in the area reported he had fire showing from the pumping station.

The initial dispatch was for Station 49, Engine 76 (VA Fire Dept.), 35 (Wagontown) for their Engine and Tanker, Rescue 38 (Thorndale), Engine 43 (City of Coatesville), Engine 44-5 (Westwood) and 47 (Lionville) for RIT along with Ambulance 144.

Engine 76 arrived on location first and were advised by Deputy 49 to stay on Reeceville Rd and stretch an 1 3/4 handline. Crews had fire through the roof and had to force entry into the pumping station. As members from 49, 35 and 38 began to arrive they started assisting with pulling the ceiling on the interior of the building to expose the fire that was up in the roof area while other members started opening up outside and checking for any further extension.

The fire was placed under control quickly and the incident was scaled back to Station 49 and Engine 76. Once Engine 76 was able to get their equipment back together they were also made available.

Members from East Brandywine remained on location until approx. 1am assisting the fire marshal and the township with cleanup inside of the building and removing any smoldering material to the outside and wetting it down.

Thank you to West Whiteland Fire Company for providing an Engine to cover our local while we were on scene.
