On Friday November 29th while a lot of people were out doing some Black Friday shopping or still sleeping off their Turkey from the night before the EBFC volunteers were dispatched to the 2800blk of Cambridge in Honey Brook to assist Station 33 on a reported building fire.

Initial reports were of a tobacco house with smoke coming from the roof area. Engine 33-1 (Honey Brook) arrived on scene first and reported smoke coming from the roof of the building and stretched an 1 3/4 handline.

Ladder 49, Engine 49-2 and 49-5 all made the response. Upon the arrival of Ladder 49 they were advised to take the driveway and put the aerial to the roof. Engine 49-2 and 49-5 sent their crews up to the scene while Engine 49-5 remained on the main road in case their water supply was needed.

The crews from 33 found a fire in a wood stove that had extended to the walls around it. Those members were able to make a quick knock on the fire and prevented any further damage to the structure. At that time the assignment was scaled back and 49 units were made available from the scene.
