On Wednesday December 18th just before 6:30pm as members were just starting to arrive at the station for our weekly training the dispatch went out for a reported house fire in Caln Township on Chester Ct in the Beaver Run Development. Thorndale Fire Company was enjoying their banquet so Cochranville Fire Company 27 was covering them. Also on the call were Minquas, Alert, Lionville and East Brandywine Fire Companies.

The initial report was of the fire alarms going off and a haze and odor on the second floor of the residence and that everyone had been evacuated. Engine 46-2 from Minquas Fire Company arrived first and reported nothing showing from the exterior of the residence. Deputy 49 arrived next and assumed command.

Crews from 46, 45, 49 and 27 (Covering for Thorndale) checked the residence and couldn't find any problems. After investigating and finding no issues the assignment was cleared and all units were made available.

EBFC responded with Engine 49-5, 49-2 and Ladder 49 along with Deputy and Assistant 49 for a total of 18 volunteers.
