On Wednesday January 22nd, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers participated in FAST Board training. Thirty-six members attended the training to learn more about the FAST board and its rescue applications.

In an effort to continually improve our service delivery particularly around life safety, the Company invested in the purchase of two fast boards and associated equipment. This system was specifically designed to assist RIT teams with extricating downed fire fighters in critical situations.

Chris Simpson a FAST Board representative and a career fire fighter in Philadelphia provided an overview of the various scenarios in which the FAST Board can benefit a downed fire fighter or civilian.
