On Wednesday 5/6/2020 at 1909hrs the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Thorndale Fire Company along with Downingtown, West Bradford and Lionville on a house fire on Lynn Blvd in Caln Township.

Chief 38 arrived and had smoke showing from a 1 story ranch home. Initial reports were that people and animals may still be inside. It was quickly determined now humans were inside but there may still be a dog in the house. Battalion 49 arrived and went inside to do a quick search. No dog was found in the residence and Battalion 49 reported the back bedroom was on fire.

Rescue 38 arrived and dropped a supply line from the hydrant to the scene and stretched an 1 3/4 handline. Engine 49-5 arrived next and stretched a backup handline. Tower 45 arrived next and put the aerial to the roof. Engines 49-2 and 49-1 and Ladder 49 also began to arrive and a few members went to the roof while the rest remained out front in the manpower pool.

The fire was placed under control quickly and crews began overhaul. Before leaving the scene crews from 49 assisted with re-packing the 5 inch line off Rescue 38 and getting all our equipment back on the trucks.

EBFC was on scene for approx 1 hour and responded with 28 members.
