On Tuesday July 21st shortly before 11am the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched to assist Glen Moore on a house fire in West Nantmeal on Fairview Rd. Twin Valley Fire Company and Honey Brook Fire Company were also due on the assignment.

Initial reports were of fire in the laundry room. Deputy 49 arrived first and reported nothing showing from the front of the residence. Upon investigation he found smoke showing from the rear of the residence with a small fire in the laundry room area.

Engines 49-2 and 48-5 arrived at the same time and crews stretched an 1 3/4 handline off of Engine 48-5 to the rear door of the house. As crews began to extinguish the fire other members from 49 placed ground ladders around all sides of the residence. The fire was extinguished quickly and crews began overhaul and the process of checking for any extension. A fan was placed at the front door to push any remaining smoke out of the residence.

Crews were on scene for approx. 30 minutes. Engine 49-2, Ladder 49, Utility 49 and Deputy 49 made the response.
