Just after 5am on Wednesday September 2nd East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company at Bakery Feeds in Honey Brook Township.

Initial reports were of a biomass structure approx 40' high with fire on the inside. Deputy 33 arrived and confirmed he had a working fire in the duct work of the machine which is outside of the building. Crews from Honey Brook arrived and laid a supply line into the scene and stretched an 1 3/4 handline to begin to cool down the large pipe that was involved. Truck 39 (Garden Spot) arrived and put their aerial up and began to open up the pipe so that water could be put directly inside.

Ladder 49 and Engine 49-1 made the response as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) which is a group of firefighters on scene specifically there in case any other firefighters were to get hurt or injured in the fire and needed to be rescued. Luckily the RIT was not needed and stood by on scene for approx. 1 hour before being released by command.
