Sunday, March 14th turned out to be a busy one for the volunteers at East Brandywine and numerous other companies across Chester County. The calls for EBFC started at 11:49am when Engine 49-5 and Rescue 49 responded to Wawaset Farm Ln in Pocopson for a barn fire.

At the same time of this incident, a 2 alarm fire was already happening in the southern part of the county which required units from out of the area to respond to the Wawaset Farm Ln fire to assist. Upon the arrival of the first units, it was determined to be a working fire with a large area of brush around the incident also on fire.

Upon the arrival of Rescue 49 & Engine 49-5 the tanker was placed in the tanker shuttle with other units to help shuttle water to the scene which was then dumped into 4 porta tanks. Rescue 49 supplied water to the scene from the tanks and pumped 180,000 gallons of water during the incident.

While those crews operated in Pocopson the station was staffed by 8 members in case of any further emergencies. At 3:25 ATV49 was dispatched to assist at a brush fire in Westtown. Utility 49 and ATV49 made the response with 4 and assisted on the scene for a short period of time before being released. While they were on scene another emergency was dispatched this time in East Brandywine on Little Washington Rd for a report of a tree and wires down on the roadway.

Engine 49-2 made the response with 5 right after dispatch and arrived to find several large trees that fell over and were hanging over the roadway. Crews shut down the roadway to all traffic and cleared the scene.

Later in the evening Engine 49-2, Ladder 49 and QRS49 made the response to a residence on Little Conestga Rd for an odor investigation. Crews investigated and turned the scene over to the homeowners.
