Weekly Training "Hoseline Advancement"

By East Brandywine Fire Company

This week for training members went to the DCCC Campus off of 322 and worked on deploying hoselines. For an Engine Company to implement an aggressive fire attack knowing how to advance hose quickly and efficiently is very important. Getting the first line off the engine and into position is extremely important and can easily affect the outcome our the fire.

There are many different hose loads that can be used on an Engine. EBFC uses what is called the Minuteman hose load which is designed to allow the firefighter to get the initial attack line in place with ease.

Members took turns deploying the 200ft hoseline and discussing it afterwards with other members. Some of our newer members got valuable experience in pulling these lines and also learning how to re-pack them on the truck.

20 members attended the training
