At 4:45pm on Sunday afternoon, East Brandywine Fire Company along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to the unit block of Tradition Ln in East Brandywine for a reported house fire. Initial reports were of smoke in the residence and that everyone was evacuated.

Assistant 49 arrived within minutes and had nothing showing from the exterior of the residence but did have a smoke condition inside. Engine 49-2 & Ladder 49 made the response, Engine 49-2 arrived on location and dropped a supply line from the corner of Locust Knoll Rd & Tradition Ln and pulled into the driveway of the residence. Crews stretched two 1 3/4 handlines to the front door and made entry to the residence. As crews began searching for the source of the smoke, mutual aid companies arrived on location to assist. Engine 46-2 arrived and picked up the supply line from Engine 49 and completed the lay to the hydrant. Additional Firefighters began to place ground ladders around the residence and stood by out front if needed.

Crews on the interior made access to the basement and found a small fire and made a quick knock. Several fans were placed in service to remove the smoke from the residence and the fire was placed under control at 4:58pm

EBFC was on scene for approx. 45 minutes before clearing the scene.

Thank you to our mutual aid for the assistance and to Honey Brook Engine 33-5 for covering our local while we operated on scene.
