Monday afternoon just before 1:30pm Downingtown Fire Department along with several other departments were dispatched to the Woodmont North Apartments at 400 Winding Way for a reported apartment fire. This is the same building that previously had a fire back in February of this year.

Chief 45 arrived a short time later and reported heavy smoke showing from the building and requested the working fire dispatch. Engine 49-2 was on the air just clearing a call in our local and were requested to the scene. Shortly after arrival at 1:33pm, Chief 45 requested the second alarm.

Crew from Engine 49-2 arrived on location and assisted the initial crews with extinguishment of the fire, searches inside the fire building as well as placing ground ladders around the building and overhaul.

The fire was placed under control at 2:31pm and crews from EBFC were on scene for a little over an hour and a half.
