On Tuesday morning at 08:23hrs, East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched along with multiple other departments to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company on a reported barn fire in the 1100 block of Chestnut Tree Rd.

Initial reports were of flames coming from a barn and possibly a person and animals still inside.

Ladder 49 made the response and while enroute units from Honey Brook Fire Company went on location and confirmed a working barn fire with fire through the roof. All occupants were reported out of the barn at the time as well.

Ladder 49 was originally due as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) but while enroute advised to take the driveway and set up the aerial unit to begin flowing water. The crew arrived on scene and took a position the front of the barn and once water supply was set up began flowing water on the fire.

The crew from Ladder 49 was on location for several hours and cleared the scene around 1:30pm.
