|December 30, 2022|
At 1:28pm on Thursday afternoon 12/30/2022 the volunteers from EBFC were dispatched to assist Thorndale Fire Company on a reported house fire in the 1300 block of Blackhorse Hill Rd. Initial reports were of fire coming from the kitchen area of the house and a report of at least one dog in the house still.
Engine 76 arrived with fire showing from the A/B corner of the home and crews stretched an 1 3/4 handline and began fire attack. Battalion 49 arrived and went inside to assist with doing a primary search of the residence and within minutes found the missing dog and removed it from the residence. The Battalion and FF/EMT Proko administered oxygen and the dog was rushed to Glen Moore Vet where we are told he is going to make a full recovery.
Ladder 49, Engine 49-5 and Engine 49-2's crews placed ground ladders around the residence and assisted with opening up the rear of the home. Once the fire was placed under control Ladder 49's crew remained on scene and assisted with overhaul.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family affected by this fire.
