"Five Minute Drill"

Training Officer Peta led over 25 firefighters in a 5 minute drill Wednesday evening. Using our on site training center, firefighters practiced working as a team to accomplish fire ground tasks. Special attention was given to our new and junior firefighters to give them the opportunity to use their newly learned skills.

EBFC's 5 minute drill encompasses tasks that are completed by the first arriving units at a fire. The first in engine is responsible for a 360 and size up of the structure, deploying a hoseline, securing a water supply, and putting the fire out. The first arriving ladder is responsible for laddering the building, ventilating the smoke, and searching for possible trapped occupants.
