Sunday afternoon at 12:55pm the East Brandywine Fire Company along with Westwood EMS were dispatched to Manor Rd & Hibernia Rd in West Brandywine for an auto accident reported to be involving two vehicles.

Battalion 49 arrived within minutes and confirmed two vehicles involved with one vehicle up an embankment and one subject trapped. Rescue 49, Ladder 49, Engine 49-2, QRS 49, Chief, Deputy and Battalion 49 all made the response to the scene. Upon arrival crews utilized the Res-Q-Jack struts and chains to stabilize the vehicle while other members placed the hydraulic tools in service and began to remove the two drivers side doors. Extrication was completed in 11 minutes from the arrival of Rescue 49.

EMS from Westwood transported the injured subjects while EBFC crews remained on scene to provide traffic control and clear the debris from the roadway.

Flings Towing arrived and removed the vehicles and the roadway was reopened a short time later.
