East Brandywine volunteers traveled to the West Chester Fire Department Training Center last evening for our Wednesday night drill. This week members were able to participate in several live fire scenarios including basement fires and primary and secondary searches for victims.
28 members attended the drill, and each member was able to participate in the scenario multiple times. Each member got the opportunity to work with an Engine crew advancing hoselines to the fire while the Ladder crews performed searches and placed ground ladders. This is also valuable training for our seasoned apparatus drivers as well as new drivers allowing them valuable practice in apparatus placement, aerial placement, and pump time.
While training in West Chester, Rescue 49 remained in East Brandywine to cover the area along with Engine 76 from the VA Hospital and Rescue 38 from Thorndale. Engine 76 & Engine 38 handled one call for us while we were training.

If you are interested in high quality training and joining our team of dedicated volunteers stop down on any Wednesday night after 6:30pm to learn more about East Brandywine Fire Company.
