At 11:07am on Monday 6/10/2024 the East Brandywine Fire Company along with EMS from Minquas EMS were dispatched to the intersection of E Reeceville Rd & Bollinger Rd for an auto accident. QRS 49 arrived first and reported one subject sitting on the ground with an elbow injury and another trapped in a pickup truck that was on it's side. Assistant 49 arrived and took command while Rescue 49, Ladder 49 and Deputy 49 arrived and began extrication efforts. Crews utilized paratech struts to stabilize the truck on one side while using chains and a come along to secure the vehicle on the other side utilizing a tree as support. Once the vehicle was stabilized crews began cutting the roof with sawzalls and two cutters (1 hydraulic & 1 battery). Due to the position of the vehicles it was decided to utilitize the QRS to pull the Hummer H3 back off of the truck so that crews could flap the roof down allowing patient access. At 11:42am extrication was complete and the driver was turned over to EMS. The driver was conscious and alert the whole time and appeared to only have minor injuries. 14 members made the response Our Thoughts & Prayers are with those involved |
