On June 5th members gathered at South Brandywine Middle School for an intense and valuable training session focused on commercial roof operations. This hands-on training featured two critical techniques:
Hand Tools Only Evolution: Practicing precision and skill with hand tools to effectively and safely manage commercial roof operations without the aid of power equipment.
Saw Evolutions: Utilizing power saws to enhance efficiency and speed in roof operations, ensuring we are prepared for various emergency scenarios.
It is not often that we get the opportunity to train on a commercial building and operations on the roof of a commercial property are very different from those on a residential property. Roof operations on a commercial roof also tend to require more firefighters to effectively get the job done.
These training exercises are crucial for our team to stay sharp, adaptable, and ready to serve our community with excellence.
Once again, we thank Deputy Chief Randy Scott and Westwood Fire Company for inviting us to train at the facility
