On Wednesday night, 25 members attended training at the firehouse as we kicked off our Vehicle Rescue Training series. This week’s focus was on our rescue struts and their various capabilities.

EBFC currently carries two types of Res-Q-Jack struts — a heavy-duty vehicle stabilization and lifting strut, and a light-duty version designed for smaller applications. During the session, newer members had the opportunity to get hands-on experience setting up and operating the struts, while more seasoned members reviewed advanced techniques and practiced different stabilization scenarios at a slower, controlled pace.

This training also provided valuable time for everyone to become more familiar with the equipment placement on our new Rescue 49, ensuring our crews can operate efficiently and safely during real-world rescue incidents.
