At 1:38 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers and EMS personnel from Westwood were dispatched to the intersection of Swinehart Road and National Drive following reports of a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

QRS 49 was the first to arrive, reporting a two-vehicle accident blocking Swinehart Road between National and Culbertson Run Road. Rescue 49 and Utility 49-1 arrived soon after. Upon their arrival, Rescue 49 personnel immediately secured the scene and addressed any hazards. Crews from QRS 49 and Utility 49-1 closed the roadway to ensure the safety of responders and the public.

Given the circumstances, a second BLS ambulance was requested, bringing Honey Brook-Elverson EMS to the incident. The scene was also supported by West Brandywine Police Department and Flings Towing.

After EMS personnel evaluated and assisted those involved, and the vehicles were safely removed, the roadway was reopened to traffic. All responding units were then made available for further service.
