On Thursday evening at 7:59pm the East Brandywine Fire Company along with our mutual aid partners were dispatched to the 100blk of Locks Farm Lane in Applecross for a reported house fire. Initial reports indicated fire in a cabinet.

QRS49 arrived within two minutes and initially had nothing showing from the front. As they began to investigate they then indicated smoke showing from the front door with a smoke condition in the home.

Engine 49-2 made the response and on arrival secured their own water supply and stretched an 1 3/4 handline into the home. Ladder 49 arrived next and placed the aerial to the roof and ground ladders outside the home. Engine 49-5 also arrived shortly after and assisted interior crews. Deputy 49, Chief 49, Assistant 49 and Batallion 49 were also on scene.

Crews found a small fire in a cabinet inside the home and quickly had the fire extinguished with no extension. At that time the assignment was held to units from Station 49 only.

No injuries were reported and crews were on scene for approximately 30 minutes before clearing.

27 volunteers from EBFC made the response.
