| On Monday May 4th, our mutual aid partners at the Twin Valley Fire Department operated on a working woods fire in the area of Hopewell Road at the Hopewell Historic Site. The fire, originally discovered by a utility worker, spread to approximately 7 acres in a remote and difficult-to-access area. Crews utilized brush trucks, ATVs, and hand lines to establish control, along with drafting operations and portable pumps to supply water deep into the wooded terrain. With assistance from multiple mutual aid companies and DCNR Forestry crews, the fire was brought under control. DCNR personnel remained on scene for continued monitoring and extinguishment of hotspots. We were proud to assist responding with Utility 49 and ATV 49 helping to ensure continued protection for the community. Great work by all companies involved and strong teamwork across the region. |
