It’s been a busy day for the volunteers of the East Brandywine Fire Company handling 7 calls so far today.

After assisting earlier this morning at the house fire in West Whiteland, things stayed quiet until just after 1:00pm when the company was dispatched to a local business for an odor investigation inside the building. Engine 49-2 and QRS 49 made the response and after investigating, the call was determined to be unfounded.

While crews were clearing that scene, QRS 49 was dispatched to a medical call in West Brandywine. That was shortly followed by a public service call and then another medical call in East Brandywine not long after.

At 3:28pm the company was dispatched to an auto accident with injuries at the intersection of Route 322 and Route 82 involving two vehicles. Rescue 49, QRS 49, Utility 49-1 and Utility 49-2 all responded. Crews assisted with patient care, debris cleanup, and traffic control while the scene was being cleared. Once the vehicles were removed by Flings Towing, the company returned available.

The last call of the day so far came just before 5:30pm for another QRS medical call in West Brandywine.

After the calls, our members also held our monthly company meeting at the firehouse tonight.
