On July 17th East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist Wagontown Fire Company for a garage fire on Birdell Road in West Caln Township.

Engine 49 and Ladder 49 were due on the assignment, and in total twenty three volunteers from East Brandywine assisted along with manpower from several other Companies.

The call was originally dispatched as a garage fire. Upon arrival of Assistant 49 it was noted the garage was heavily engulfed in fire with impingement into the home. Shortly after arrival while doing a 360 degree survey fire was extending thru the entire length of the ridge vent.

Crews aggressively opened up most of the second floor ceiling in an effort to prevent further extension.

East Brandywine units were released by Command approximately 3 hours after arrival.
