On Saturday September 20th, the T3 Training Division conducted their third live burn of the year. Twenty-two volunteers participated in the burn which focused on basement fires.

The day started with an overview provided by Captain Vince D'Amico who reviewed key points surrounding attacking a basement fire. A walk-through of the burn building was then conducted for safety purposes.

The crews were split into groups of four, with a primary attack group and a search and rescue group. Additionally, there was also a group who laddered the building during every scenario. Multiple evolutions were able to be completed as a result of the groups focus and energy.

While the interior attack groups worked, our Junior firefighters also trained through out the day by participating in ancillary services activities. These activities included setting up scene lighting and hydrant operations.

Special thanks to Weaverland Fire Department for covering our district during this training session.

Lastly, thank-you to all of the volunteers and their families who continue to sacrifice their time to train in order to advance their skill set.
