Last night hundreds of families braved a driving rain storm in order to come out and support the annual Fire Prevention Open House hosted by the Fire Company.

Volunteers worried prior to opening the doors that the weather might limit attendance to the event. One mother was quoted as saying "all I wanted to do was cook dinner and curl up under a blanket, however my kids wouldn't let me, they wanted to come to the Fire Station". It is stories like this one that helped the Fire Company draw huge crowds to the Open House once again.

Those in attendance received fire prevention and safety materials, goodies from Bond's Eye Care, and unlimited hot dogs, soft pretzels, and cookies. In addition our mascot's Sparky and Freddie the Fire Truck put on a show highlighting important safety messages. The night culminated with volunteers showcasing their skills with a vehicle extrication demonstration.

According to Chief John Edwards "we have a remarkable team of volunteers, they consistently impress me with their dedication to the Community"! Edwards also added "I believe the turnout highlights the connection we have with the Community, we value our relationship with our residents".

The Officers and Members of East Brandywine Fire Company would like to thank all those who took time out of their busy schedule to support our Open House.
