On Tuesday January 6th East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were busy with responses to 5 QRS calls, an auto accident with reported entrapment and a working house fire.

The day started when the Company was dispatched to Rock Raymond Road and Dowlin Forge for a accident involving a car and a school bus. Initial reports provided by passerby's indicated that occupants in the car were trapped. Upon arrival of Chief 49 and Engine 49-1 it was determined that the occupant self extricated and no services were required.

Later in the day the Company was dispatched to assist the Wagontown Fire Company on Stillwagon Lane for a reported microwave fire. Chief 49, Assistant 49, Engine 49-1, and Engine 49-5 went en-route with 14 volunteers. While en-route Chester County Fire Radio updated responding units that the homeowner called back and reported smoke now coming from the roof. Chester County Fire Radio made the proactive decision to upgrade to the working fire dispatch.

Upon arrival of Chief 35 and Assistant 49 it was reported that they had heavy smoke showing. Crews from Glen Moore Fire Company, Honey Brook Fire Company, Westwood Fire Company, VA Fire Department, and Coatesville Fire Department in addition to the aforementioned worked collaboratively to extinguish the fire.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our neighbors who experienced emergencies today.
