On Wednesday January 7th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Glen Moore Fire Company at 200 Barneston Road for a chimney fire.

Assistant 49 arrived on scene and reported that their was smoke from the chimney, with fire extending into the walls. At the request of Chief 48 who was on Engine 48-1 the working fire dispatch was requested.

Personnel from Glen Moore and East Brandywine, worked quickly to open up the walls and extinguish the fire. Once the fire in the walls was contained crews then dropped chains down the chimney to remove the remaining burning content.

Situation was placed under control relatively quickly, and the units due on the working fire dispatch were returned. Fire Marshals from the State and County were on scene a short time investigating the fire. Thanks to Ambulance 144 for standing by during the course of the incident.
