2015 Line Officer Installation and Company Recognition Ceremony

On Wednesday evening January 14th East Brandywine Fire Company held their annual Line Officer Installation and Company Recognition Ceremony. Overall the evening was a huge success with nearly 125 people in attendance.

The evening opened with Chief Edwards welcoming guests some of whom included Supervisors from East Brandywine, West Brandywine, and Upper Uwchlan Townships, business and community leaders, and State Representative Corbin. Chief Edwards also acknowledged all of the families who were in attendance who are so vital to the Organizations success.

Chief Edwards then went on to highlight all of the accomphishments the Company experienced in 2014. Additionally Chief Edwards made a surprise announcement the the Company recently received a $10,000 grant from Fireman's Fund Insurance Company for the purchase of portable radios. Special thanks to Jim Digby for helping make this a reality.

Following Chief Edward's overview, Deputy Director of Emergency Services for Fire Beau Crowding addressed the audience. Deputy Director Crowding praised the Company as being one of the best in the County particularly from a personnel, training, and good business practices perspective.

Following Deputy Director Crowding, Assistant Fire Marshal for East Whiteland Township Dan Kerrigan took to the podium. Dan is a 28 year veteran of the fire service and a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Officer Program. In addition Dan holds a Masters Degree in Fire Service Leadership, most importantly Dan is a fireman's fireman. Dan spoke directly to the firefighters in the audience and was nothing less then remarkable! His talk was one not only filled with passion, but from the heart.

Following both talks, Mr. Ron Morgan a local resident helped round out the evening with a "connect to purpose". Mr. Morgan explained to the audience how the Fire Company was there for he and his wife Nancy in a time of need.

The 2015 Line Officer for both the Fire and EMS Division were then announced.
