During the afternoon hours of March 10th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Thorndale Fire Company on a dwelling fire in the area of Glen View Lane and Hillcrest Drive.

Police arrived on location and reported smoke showing from the dwelling and identified the address as 12 Glen View Lane. Additionally, the Police indicated that they had one elderly patient suffering from smoke inhalation.

Chief 39 arrived on-scene shortly after dispatch and reported fire showing. After a 360 degree survey was performed by Assistant 49, it was determined that there was fire on the first and second floor. Chief 38 arrived on-scene and assumed Glen View Command.

Personnel from East Brandywine Fire Company, Thorndale Fire Company, Downingtown Fire Department, and the Lionville Fire Company worked collaboratively to extinguish the fire.

EMS units from the Downingtown Fire Department cared for the patient, who ultimately based on her injuries required air-medical transport via JeffStat 3.

The origin and cause of the fire are currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's office.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the patient and her family.
