During the early morning hours of Friday July 3rd, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to Keller Way for an investigation. Additionally the Glen Moore Fire Company (48), Alert Fire Company (45), and Minquas Ambulance made the response.

While enroute Chester County Fire Radio, indicated that the caller awoke to an odor and her home filling with smoke and evacuated. Upon Deputy 49's arrival, the East Brandywine Police who were on-scene reported the basement was filled with smoke.

Upon arrival of Engine 49-1, 49-5, and Ladder 49, an attack line was deployed, a supply line established and ground ladders thrown. Crews made entry to identify the source and control the situation. Crews from both Stations 48 and 45 arrived on-scene shortly after 49 units and assisted in the operation.

The source of the smoke was determined to be from a motor located on a piece of metal working machinery in the basement. Once the source was identified crews ventilated the residence.

Thanks to the volunteers from all of the Stations who started their holiday weekend off by mitigating this emergency.
