On Sunday July 12th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Thorndale Fire Company with a reported dwelling fire on Hillcrest Drive in Caln Township. The Downingtown Fire Department and the Lionville Fire Company were also due on the assignment.

Assistant 38 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and reported he had heavy fire conditions and established Hillcrest Command.

Over the course of the next 3 hours, personnel from all of the Companies to include East Whiteland Fire Company and Sadsburyville Fire Company were called in for additional manpower all worked to extinguish the fire.
